Summer Greetings
Hello dear friends,
Finally summer has arrived and I want to send you all summer greetings. It has been a very hectic, but also rewarding year. Time has passed far too quickly, so I have not had the opportunity to keep you informed about all my various activities.
This summer I have been on tour with my new family show based on the children's CD which was released last year. We've had a lot of fun and the show has been very well received by the audiences everywhere. The tour ends at Hunderfossen Familiepark on 24th August. Here you can listen to the Litago-song, which has been especially made for the show.
This summer I was awarded the Willy Brandt Prize 2002. The actual presentation of the prize took place in Bergen and it was a proud moment. The prize was awarded to me for my contribution to making Norway known to a broad, German audience through my extensive artistic career in Germany.
Otherwise I've been busy doing shows both in Norway and abroad, which I will continue to do this autumn. We even managed to get a trip to Svalbard (Spitzbergen). One of the things I really look forward to, is a big concert Povel Ramel and I will give in Malmö (Sweden) 18th August. Anders will conduct, and we will be accompanied by Malmö Symphony Orchestra.
I be lieve you have every reason to look forward to a Swedish TV-show called "Diggiloo", which will be sent in September and where Anders and I both play and sing on the same team.
We are now in the process of preparing a new CD for the German speaking market. The CD will be released in Germany this autumn on the Universal Koch label. This is an exciting concept which I will tell you more about at a later stage. The photographs for the cover will be taken in the Lofoten Islands this summer by the renowned German photographer Helge Strauss. The result of the photo-session will be presented on my homepage as soon as the pictures are ready.
One other thing I look forward to is a big Christmas tour in Sweden together with Christer Sjögren, Pernilla Wahlgren, Charlotte Nilsson, Björn Hedström, a gospel choir and a big orchestra. The tour opens on 22nd November in Luleå. We will give 40 concerts in 27 days, and judging by the overwhelming ticket sales so far, this is going to be very exciting. The tour schedule is listed below.
I wish you all a wonderful summer!
Yours sincerely, Wenche
